www.progettorisorgimento.it is the exciting new portal of "The Italian Risorgimento and the birth of contemporary Italy" initiative, a collaborative project by the Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia (Rome) and the Fondazione Istituto Gramsci (Rome).

The project, which will conclude in December 2010, documents the various "languages" - politics, economics, literature, music and painting - and ways in which the idea of a single Italian state was born, starting in the early nineteenth century; and how this idea of nation was re-interpreted in the spheres of literature, cinema and historical studies in the second part of the twentieth century.
