Alle fanciulle

Alle fanciulle ("To Young Girls"), first published in 1884 and re-issued in 1891, is the text in which Anna Maria Mozzoni lays out the reasons for which the then-emerging socialism offered young women from all social classes an effective tool for fighting against their subordinate status.
It's a call to young women inspired by the words of John Stuart Mill in The Subjection of Women (which Mozzoni herself translated into Italian in 1870): "the true virtue of human beings is fitness to live together as equals; claiming nothing for themselves but what they as freely concede to everyone else".
